A BRIEF HISTORY :
ALONG THE COAST OF THE HOLY GANGES, THERE EXISTED A VERY ANCIENT JANAPADA, NAMED ARJADAHA WHICH WITH THE FLOW OF TIME CAME TO BE KNOWN AS ARIADAHA. FOR THE FLOURISHMENT OF EDUCATION IN THE OTHERWISE SIMPLE LIFE OF THE VILLAGERS, THE ZAMINDARS OF THE AREA CAME FORWARD WITH GREAT ENTHUSIASM AND OPTIMISM. THEY RIGHTLY REALISED THAT WITHOUT EDUCATION THEY CAN NEVER PROSPER AND WILL CONTINUE TO REMAIN IN DARKNESS FOREVER. PROBABLY AS AN EFFECT OF THAT, ONE LEADING PROFESSOR OF FORT WILLIAM COLLEGE , ESTABLISHED A SCHOOL ALONG THE COAST OF GANGES AT ARIADAHA VILLAGE . IN THE YEAR 6TH JANUARY , 1884 WITH THE SUPPORT AND UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF SHASI BHUSHAN GANGULY ARIADAHA WITNESSED ITS FIRST EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION , ‘ARIADAHA ASSOCIATION SCHOOL ‘. FOUNDED BY KUNJO BEHARI BANDOPADHYA . IN LATER YEARS THIS SCHOOL CAME TO BE KNOWN AS “ NORTH SUBARBAN ACADEMY” THIS SCHOOL WAS PURELY ENGLISH MEDIUM. FIRST HEDMASTER OF THIS SCHOOL WAS BEHARI LAL GHOSH. IN 1890 THE SCHOOL WAS SHIFTED TO A MAKESHIFT HUTMENT IN THE LAND OF CHANDRA BANDHOPADHYA WHERE IT CONTINUED FOR 15 LONG YEARS.
A VERY BENEVOLENT PERSON, SHIBA PRASAD DAS CAME UP WITH HIS BRILLIANT AND OUTSTANDING INITIATIVE. DONATED THE LAND OF HIS LATE FATHER KALACHAND DAS S FOR THE RELOCATION OF THE SCHOOL, , DONATED HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SCHOOL BUILDING IN ITS PRESENT FORM. THUS CAME INTO EXISTENCE A MAMMOTH INSTITUTION WHICH PRODUCED GENERATION AFTER GENERATION OF BRILLIANCE AND TALENTS

Who we are
Ariadaha Kalachand High School was established in 1884 by a group of people who wanted to promote modern education in their village. They followed the examples of Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar and Reverened Krishnamohan Bandyopadhyay and the movement of ‘Young Bengal’. They started the school as ‘North Suburban Academy’ in the house of Mr. Sashi Bhusan Ganguli near the current location of Ariadaha Kalachand High School.
The school is located in Ariadaha–Dakshineswar, a place that has a history of Bengal Renaissance and cultural activities. The school was later renamed as Ariadaha Kalachand High English School after Mr. Kalachand Das, whose son Mr. Sibapada Das donated land for the school building. The school is now known as Ariadaha Kalachand High School and is a leading educational institution in Belghoria P.S. of Barrackpore Sub-Division.
The school became a Higher Secondary School in 1959 and offered three streams: Science, Commerce and Humanities.The school under the guidance of qualified teachers, especially Mr. Dulal Chandra Ghosal, the former Headmaster, improved its standards. The old gothic structure of the school was replaced by a new four-storied building with an open air stage and a modern auditorium.
